Birthdays For May 4th + Star Wars Day
If this is your birthday, congratulations! You share the same date as two names in country music. Randy Traywick, born at Memorial Hospital in Monroe, North Carolina, in 1959. As Randy Travis, his rich baritone is a signature sound in the New Traditionalist movement of the late-1980s. Among his hits: "On The Other Hand" and "Forever And Ever, Amen". He will be inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame later this year.
Randy with Miranda Lambert. Happy 57th, Randy!
Also turning a year older today:
Songwriter Luke Laird, born in Greenville, Pennsylvania, in 1978. He fashions such hits as Little Big Town's "Pontoon," Eric Church's "Talladega," Kenny Chesney's "American Kids," Miranda Lambert's "Baggage Claim" and Carrie Underwood's "Last Name".
Happy 38th, Luke!
This Is Star Wars Day!
This day came about as a fluke. In 2005, a German News TV channel N24 interview erroneously translated this famous Star Wars quote. In German, "May the force be with you", was incorrectly interpreted as "We are with you on May 4th".
It's still a great day to watch any one of the fantastic Star Wars movies or perhaps, two or three. Just kick back and enjoy.
