Happy Finally Friday!!  If you are turning a year older today, congratulations!  You share this date with songwriter, Gretchen Peters.  Born in Bronxville, New York, in 1957, she is responsible for penning such hit country songs as, "The Secret Of Life" for Faith Hill, "Independence Day" for Martina McBride, "You Don't Even Know Who I Am" for Patty Loveless, and many others.  Happy 57th, Gretchen!  It's World Diabetes Day! 

How much do you know about this disease?

There are two forms of Diabetes.  First, there is Juvenile (Type 1) Diabetes.  Second, there is Adult Onset (Type 2) Diabetes.

Many health professionals see it as a looming crisis not only in America, but throughout the world as well.  It's largely because of our diets and more sedentary lifestyles.

There is some good news, when it comes to Type 2.  This can be delayed or even avoided with proper diet and exercise.

This day was created to raise awareness of Diabetes, it's causes, effects and complications.  It also should encourage everyone to make lifestyle changes to help fight this disease.  In other words, it's pretty much up to each one of us to do something about it.

Hopefully, this will give you some thoughts to ponder, in your own mind on this Special Day.
