If this is your birthday, congratulations! You share the same date as one of the most talented artists ever in country music. Roy Clark, born in Meherrin, Virginia, in 1933. The co-host of "Hee Haw," his vocal and instrumental skills bring him hits from 1963-1976, plus the CMA's Entertainer of the Year award and membership in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

We all make mistakes, thank goodness this device is always there to help. How did it come to be?

Joseph Priestley discovered the eraser in 1770, using pieces of rubber imported from Brazil. Later, 1858, Hyman Lipman of Philadelphia, Pa., patented the pencil with an eraser at the end.

Today, most erasers are made from rubber or vinyl.

Thought for today: To err is human, using an eraser is divine.
