This Dumb San Angelo Traffic Signal Needs to Go
Last month you may remember I wrote a blog about the timing (or lack there of) of traffic signals here in San Angelo.
Well while driving down Knickerbocker Road yesterday I was reminded of a traffic signal that bothered me five years ago when I last lived here in the Concho Valley. And five years later, I can't believe this still hasn't been fixed.
I'm talking about the south terminus of Johnson Street at Knickerbocker Road. As you travel west on Knickerbocker there is a traffic light with a left turn signal that goes into Schertz nursery. Take a look at picture I took yesterday of the traffic light at the top of this blog.
My question then is how popular of a place is Schertz nursery that a left turn signal is needed to go into the business and traffic going east on Knickerbocker Road needs to be stopped for all of the traffic going into Schertz nursery?
Now I'm not saying Schertz nursery isn't a place that people go to, but is a left turn signal needed into this business? I mean is this necessary? Please someone with the city or whoever is in charge of traffic light tell me why a left turn signal is here.
I have driven past Schertz nursery on Knickerbocker Road like many of you here in San Angelo and I know it is a fine establishment, but I don't think we need to stop traffic going the other direction to let people turn into the place.
So, what do you think about this traffic signal? Are there any other lights that you know are like this too? Tell us on Facebook or chat with us on our station app.
