Kane Brown Performs Stirring ‘Heaven’ on ‘The Voice’ [Watch]
Tuesday night (May 15) was a tense evening on The Voice, as the top eight finalists would take a drastic cut down to the final four. Three would make it instantly through, two eliminated, and three would be left to compete for the coveted single "Instant Save."
Needless to say, emotions were high. However, special guest Kane Brown managed to cool everything down with a chill version of his platinum-certified hit "Heaven," which just hit the top of Billboard's Country Airplay chart.
Brown, dressed casually in his usual uniform of jeans and ball cap, presented a low-key groove on the stage, which was lit up with a series of neon bars shaped to look like a row of endless doorways. Was this a metaphor for heaven, or perhaps a nod to the challenge of passing through to the next round on the show? Either way, Brown lowered the tension several notches.
The 24-year-old set a record by becoming the first artist to sit in the top spot on five charts at the same time when his self-titled debut album was standing strong on the Top Country Albums chart, and his "What Ifs" with Lauren Alaina commanded the Country Digital Song Sales, Country Airplay, Hot Country Songs and Country Streaming Songs charts in 2017.
