Tuesday (June 18) marked Blake Shelton's 43rd birthday—and, while it's safe to assume the singer received a kiss from his girlfriend Gwen Stefani to mark the occasion, photographic evidence shows he got affection from a definitely unexpected source!

Stefani posted a series of photos of her beau to Instagram, ranging from his earlier mullet-ed days to his current look (swipe to see them all). While all her choices were fun to see (and she herself hashtagged them #greatestguyiknow), her final shot was hard to top... a video of Shelton getting a smack on the cheek from a slippery, super-cute sea lion!

The couple apparently spent the day visiting the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, according to Stefani's post, and enjoyed a "backstage" tour of the facilities. The cheeky animal who bussed Shelton looks to be the aquarium's 18-year-old resident "Ty."

Hard to tell if this guy likes eating fish or kissing country music stars better, but either way, he's a mighty photogenic Instagram opp!

Shelton wrapped his 2019 Friends and Heroes tour in March, but there are still Blake Shelton tickets available for shows that he's got on the books for 2019. Most recently, he has teamed with Garth Brooks for a new duet called "Dive Bar."

He'll also be returning to his longtime coaching post for Season 17 of The Voice, which will begin in September. Girlfriend Stefani will be coaching alongside him, filling in for Shelton's playful rival Adam Levine, who has departed the show.
