He works as a sideman for Bill Monroe and Flatt & Scruggs, and releases his own solo bluegrass records for the Dot label. Wiseman also serves as a founding member of the Country Music Association and joins the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2014.

Happy 91st, Mac!

Shelly West, born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1958. The daughter of Dottie West, she shares the Country Music Association's Vocal Duo of the Year honor with David Frizzell in 1981 and '82, and earns three solo hits in '83, led by "Jose Cuervo".

Singer/songwriter Jewel Kilcher, born in Payson, Utah, in 1974. Known professionally as Jewel, she gets established as a pop star in 1996, segueing into the country charts with the 2008 single "Stronger Woman".

This Is Lucky Penny Day!

A penny today, won't buy much. In fact some folks want to discontinue them, however some pennies are lucky. Lucky pennies are found on the ground but superstition says you should only pick one up if it is lying face up.

They may not all be lucky but with enough of them, they can add up to a sizeable chunk of change.
