Nearly 600 students are scheduled to graduate during Angelo State University’s fall commencement ceremonies this Saturday, Dec. 17, in the Junell Center/Stephens Arena, 2235 S. Jackson St.

In addition to already being designated a “Military Friendly School” by Victory Media for the eighth straight year, Angelo State University has now earned an additional Silver Medal Award for scoring in the top 30 percent of all Military Friendly Schools in the U.S. of similar size.

The Angelo State University Alumni Association will host its annual Santa, Pancakes and Ewe holiday event on Sunday, Dec. 11, at the LeGrand Alumni and Visitors Center, 1620 University Ave.

The Angelo State Belle Volleyball Team won the 2016 NCAA South Central Regional Championship Saturday afternoon and punched their ticket to the NCAA Elite Eight National Championship Tournament.

Angelo State University’s student chapter of the American Chemical Society (ACS) is featured in the November 2016 edition of “The Nexus,” the official publication of the ACS Green Chemistry Institute, as well as online in its sister publication, The Nexus Blog.

Angelo State University’s Clarinet Choir will present its annual fall concert this Thursday, Dec. 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building, 2602 Dena Drive.

The lighting ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. near the Mayer Administration Building, 2601 W. Avenue N, and is free and open to the public.

Angelo State University’s Ram Powerlifting Club brought home a host of awards from the U.S.A. Powerlifting 2016 Longhorn Open competition held Nov. 19 at the University of Texas at Austin.

Eight faculty members from Angelo State University’s Department of Visual and Performing Arts will exhibit their artworks later this month at the Taragaon Museum in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Angelo State University will present its Graduating Seniors Exhibition of artworks by ASU students beginning Monday, Nov. 28, in the Carr Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building, 2602 Dena Drive.
