In June of 2012, the Zac Brown Band released the song "The Wind" as the first single from their third major-label album, Uncaged. Written by Zac Brown, Wyatt Durrette and Levi Lowrey, The song peaked just outside of the Top 10 (No. 11) on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, and earned a spot on the Billboard Hot 100 (No. 70).

"The Wind" is an uptempo tune that showcases ZBB's lightning-fast instrumentation -- but beyond the musicianship on display is a sweet story. According to Durrette -- who shared the story behind the song with The Boot -- the tune was inspired by the most important person in his life.

Wyatt Durrette: I was laying in bed and had just woken up, and my son had crawled in bed with me earlier that night. He was laying next to me; I opened my eyes, and there was his face.

The chorus, "Where the wind blows ..." I wrote it about just looking at him and never feeling a love like that in my entire life.

Clay Cook: "The Wind" is maybe our homage to bluegrass music, but played as a rock 'n' roll band.
