SAPD Arrests Kidnap & Sex Assault Suspect
At approximately 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2017, the San Angelo Police Department received information about a possible kidnapping and sexual assault of a 17-year-old female San Angelo resident.
Members of the Department’s Criminal Investigations Division were summoned to conduct a follow-up investigation where a male suspect allegedly made contact with the victim after creating a ‘spoofed’ social media account using the identity of one of the victim’s friends. While posing as the victim’s friend, the suspect made plans to pick the victim up in his vehicle, a black Dodge Charger. When the victim approached the vehicle and opened the door, the suspect pulled her inside and drove her to a secondary location where he assaulted and sexually assaulted her. The victim escaped several hours after the abduction and ran for help.
During the course of the investigation, Detectives learned the assault occurred at an unoccupied residence in the 1300 block of North Jefferson Street and that the suspect, Alegandro Herman Fevala (AKA Alejandro or Alex), 35, of San Angelo, was known to the victim.
Favela was located several hours later after Police observed his vehicle pulling into the residence on North Jefferson. He was arrested on an unrelated, outstanding warrant and transported to Police Headquarters for questioning. Members of the Department’s Patrol and Criminal Investigations Division, along with the Crime Scene Investigations Unit, secured the residence and spent several hours processing the scene for evidence. The homeowners were out of town.
Following Favela’s interview, he was transported to the Tom Green County Jail and booked for Aggravated Kidnapping Bodily Injury Sexual Abuse.
