Local and area residents will join hands and form a prayer chain around historic block one in downtown San Angelo on Sunday afternoon.

"Pray for our Law Enforcement" takes place on Sunday at 1:30pm. Residents are asked to gather at J Wilde's located at 20 E. Concho St in downtown San Angelo at 1:00pm.

T-shirts will be available for purchase for $20 with all proceeds and donations forwarded to the San Angelo Police Officer's Charities to be given to the families of the fallen officers Deputy Samuel Leonard and Sergeant Stephen Jones in Eden, Texas.

The law enforcement officers were tragically killed in a shootout on Monday night, according to a police report. KTXS-TV in Abilene reported a standoff between the suspect and law enforcement officers lasted about 30 minutes.

If you have the time after Church on Sunday, you are encouraged to head to downtown San Angelo and be apart of this living prayer chain around historic block one.

Cash, checks, debit and credit cards will be accepted on the day of the event. T-shirts will be available in sizes M, L, XL and 2X.
