San Angelo Teen Driver in Arden Road Crash Charged with Manslaughter
A teen driver who was involved in the February 17 fatality crash on Arden Road has been charged in connection to the death of 28-year-old Adrian Hernandez.
The driver, a 15-year-old male juvenile from San Angelo, was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Juvenile Justice Center Wednesday.
In the days following the deadly crash, Investigators with the San Angelo Police Department’s Traffic Section, Criminal Investigations Division, and Crime Scene Investigations Section conducted a comprehensive investigation and obtained evidence to support the charge.
Hernandez was attempting to enter onto Arden Road from Oxford Street when the teen driver’s 1992 Dodge Diesel Pickup struck his vehicle. Hernandez was extricated from his 1998 Honda Accord and transported to Shannon Medical Center but later succumbed to his injuries. Investigators later determined the truck to be traveling approximately 25 miles over the posted speed limit just prior to the crash.
CID Detective Kelly LaJoie and Traffic Investigator Ed Hunger were the lead investigators on this case. The driver’s name is not releasable due to his juvenile status.
