Earlier this month, Police were called to the Action Pawn on N. Bell for the report of a gun theft.  Detectives obtained surveillance video that showed a man stealing the firearm before driving away in a red Dodge Charger.

Through follow up investigation, the suspect was identified as Toby Kye Martin and warrants were obtained for his arrest.

This morning, Investigators developed information which led them to believe Martin was staying at the Motel 6 located at 4205 S. Bryant Blvd.

Martin was located at the motel this afternoon and taken into custody by members of the Department’s Street Crimes and Criminal Investigations Divisions along with Officials from the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Martin was charged with Theft of Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon, and six miscellaneous City warrants.  Martin was transported to the Tom Green County Jail without incident. This is an ongoing investigation and additional charges may be forthcoming.
