Man Wanted on Federal Warrant Arrested During Suspicious Vehicle Call
Thursday, San Angelo Police arrested Edward Virgen, 46, during a suspicious vehicle investigation in the unit block of E. 12th Street.
Virgen, who was wanted on an outstanding Federal Warrant, was identified as the driver of a vehicle that was the subject of an investigation that began around 2:30 p.m. yesterday when Police were dispatched to the area for the report of suspicious activity with the vehicle’s occupants. A passenger inside the vehicle, Melinda Fernandez, 37, was also arrested for three outstanding warrants.
During a search of the vehicle incident to arrests, Officers located several suspected stolen motel/hotel key cards, several flashlights, a toy gun, and two pellet guns, which were highly realistic copies of firearms.
Virgen and Fernandez were transported to the Tom Green County Jail without incident where Virgen is being detained on a US Marshal Hold. Fernandez was released after posting Bond.
A third occupant was identified and released at the scene.
