There are a lot of superstitions tied in to the first day of the New Year. We've compiled a few to help you get 2017 off to a great start.When it comes to work, do something and be successful at it, that very first day. Just make sure to limit any activity to a token amount. Engaging in a serious work project on this day is very unlucky.
Do not do laundry on New Year's Day! There's the belief that a family member could be 'washed away', or die in the new year. Some, even refrain from washing dishes on this day.
Dress in new clothes. This will increase your chances of receiving more new garments throughout the year.
When it comes to money, don't pay back loans or lend money or any other precious things on New Year's Day. If you do, it's pretty much a guarantee that you'll be paying out all year long.
Try not to break things on that first day. If you do, it could be a sign that wreckage will play a big part of the whole year for you.
By all means, avoid crying. That could set the tone for the next 12 months. That's not a good thing.
