The meeting begins at 5:45 p.m. in the Austin Elementary School cafeteria, 700 N. Van Buren St. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

Parks and Recreation Director Carl White and Construction Manager David Knapp will talk about the possible design of the projection based upon public input and available funds.

The meeting will be the first of three. At meetings in early December and mid-January, attendees will see the progress of the park design and can offer more input.

The renovation will be completed in-house using City labor and $275,000 in half-cent sales tax funds. Improvements could include a new playground, shade structure, walkways and trees. Construction should begin next spring and will take about a year to complete.

White will be joined at the meeting by Steve Van Hoozer, the San Angelo schools’ director of Bond Planning & Construction, Parks Senior Manager Roger Havlak and Parks Manager Mike Hitchcock. For more information, call the Parks & Recreation Department at 325-657-4279 or email carl.white@cosatx.us.
