National Museum Day is this Saturday and all 3 major San Angelo Museums will have free admission!

The Art Museum, Fort Concho and the Railway Museum will be taking part in this event which offers free admission this Saturday.

Museum day was started by the Smithsonian Museum as a day to invite people throughout the US to visit some of the great Museums of our country for no charge. This is the 5th year that all three of the major museums here in San Angelo have participated by opening their doors to the public for no charge.

David Wood  President of the Railway Museum of San Angelo stated “One reason for this day is to get people out that were hesitant to come or bring a large group or family because of cost. With National Museum Day everyone has a chance now to visit our museums.”

The Smithsonian came up with the idea of a National Museum Day event to promote awareness of the vast treasures and information museums throughout the country have to offer. For more information about the day and to print out your free tickets go to  Look for National Museum Day Live and print out a coupon for free admission to any participating museums and bring around to each museum you want to visit.
