Cuisine prepared by San Angelo's top chefs paired with sensational wines, light jazz performed by Kevin Brown, viewing of the International Waterlily Collection, and a silent auction. Archeology Fair

Fort Concho on Sept. 24 hosts an event all can dig – the yearly Archeology Fair.

The free event will be from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the barracks courtyard at the fort, 630 S. Oakes St.

Sponsored by the Concho Valley Archeological Society, the fair offers guests a chance to learn about the many cultures that lived in the Concho Valley long ago. Hands-on activities include digging for “Clues in the Dirt,” metal detecting, flint-knapping, prehistoric food preparation, making baskets and medicine bags, archery and atlatl-throwing.
