This thick spicy soup was first created and served to the Continental Army, camped at Valley Forge, on December 29th, 1777.

That winter was cold and harsh. Food was very scarce and conditions were deplorable.  General George Washington asked the army's chef for a meal that would both warm them and boost their moral.  By combining scraps of tripe, small bits of meat and some peppercorn and other ingredients the chef came up with Pepper Pot Soup.  The final product, hot and somewhat spicy, was so well received and enjoyed by the troops that it went on to be known as "the soup that won the war".

Now Let's P-A-R-T-Y!!
