It's been a while since he's had his own show but that's about to change.

Netflix made the announcement Wednesday, in a press release, that Bill Nye will have his own talk show series beginning sometime in the spring of next year.

The new show will be called, "Bill Nye Saves the World." It's a Netflix-exclusive and according to them will be a mix of comedy and hard science. In fact, they've already lined up comedian Mike Drucker and astronomer Phil Plait, as the head writers to handle those duties. That alone, should make it fun, as well as informative to watch.

Don't expect a "kid friendly" science show this time. In the press release, Netflix used these works to describe the aim of the new show, will be to "refute anti-scientific claims that may be espoused by politicians, religious leaders, or titans of industry." Sounds like Nye will be pulling no punches to keep up his fight against junk-science as he has in the past. Good for him!

I like this man and the opinions he offers on the complicated subject of science. Heck, I even like his bow tie!  So I, for one, will be anxious to check out the new show in 2017.
