San Angelo Competes For ‘Top Large Indoor Rodeo’ Award

We've all known it for years, the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo (SASSR) is a great event. Now, it looks like the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) is in agreement. On Wednesday, SASSR, announced they have been selected to be placed on the final ballot for, "Large Indoor Rodeo of the Year."

Wow! This is the first time in the 84 year history of the event. San Angelo, will be competing against other indoor venues like Denver, Fort Worth, and San Antonio.

Tom Thompson, Marketing Director of (SASSR), said, "We are very humbled by the nomination."

Preliminary votes were cast in August, by PRCA contestants, PRCA contract personnel, and other PRCA rodeo committees.

Winner will be announced at the annual PRCA Banquet in Las Vegas, Nevada Nov. 30.

Here's hoping San Angelo will bring home the title.
