The lineup of nominees for New Male Artist of the Year at the 2019 ACM Awards is packed with fresh faces who are already making big waves in the country music world. Last year, Brett Young took home this category's trophy; only one of the nominees from 2018 is back on the roster this year -- this time, with some serious awards and nominations under his belt.

Jimmie Allen is nominated this year after hitting a home run with his chart-topping debut single, "Best Shot," and the bootstraps story behind it. Returning nominee Luke Combs snagged New Artist of the Year at the CMA Awards in November, in addition to a Grammy Awards nomination for Best New Artist; perhaps his string of hit singles has something to do with that?

Louisiana native Jordan Davis is busy establishing a solid fanbase with chart-climbing hits such as "Take It From Me" and "Singles You Up," while Michael Ray has taken the country scene by storm with his chart-toppers "Kiss You in the Morning" and the recent "One That Got Away." Mitchell Tenpenny, meanwhile, is quickly gaining momentum with a dedicated set of fans and his breakout hit, "Drunk Me."
