There are numerous activities this week associated with Dia De Los Muertos and everyone is invited to participate.

Let's start with the 2nd Annual Dia De Los Muertos Virtual 5K/1 mile walk. The walk is being held along the San Angelo River Walk beginning at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts. Participants walk at their own pace in memory of a departed loved one anytime between October 28th - 31st. The journey begins and ends at the community altar or "virtually" wherever you would like to walk it! For more information, call Blanca De La Rosa 325-656-3440.

You are also invited to join in remembering, honoring , and celebrating loved ones who have departed with an event that will be fun for the whole familia Oct 29th & 30th. The kick off is a ceremony opening the community altar, local folklorico dancing performances, mariachi’s, vendor booths, food trucks, art demos, Lincoln Jr. High Art Exhibit, Chicano Visions Art Exhibit, salsa dancing lessons, a car show, live music, Dia de los Muertos parade across celebration bridge and much more. The event will be held at SAMFA, Bill Aylor Riverstage, and Bart DeWitt Park along the Concho River Walk.

Be sure to join the 3rd Annual Dia De Los Muertos Block Party sponsored by Reyna's Tacos on Oct 30th from 6-10 pm as they everyone to join the celebration of the lives of those that are no longer with us. Bring your flowers, sweets and pictures to honor your loved ones. Reyna says it truly is breathtaking to see all of the love we have in the offerings people display. There is so much more to take in like shopping with vendor at the San Angelo Hispanic Heritage annual Dia De Los Muertos event downtown where you will find numerous vendors set up on Sat, Oct 30th from 11 am - 7 pm.
