Almost Time for ‘The Voice’! Gwen Stefani Shares Promo of Season 17
Everyone who is a Voice fan knows that Season 17 of the hit series is right around the corner (Sept. 23, to be exact!), and nobody is more excited than Gwen Stefani, who will be returning to the show after a long hiatus to join her boyfriend, Blake Shelton, in the red chairs.
Stefani shared a clip from NBC which hailed "King Shelton" in his role as the "elder statesman" of the show. "Blake Shelton is the OG of the Voice," Stefani herself noted, and she doesn't seem too worried about pitting herself against the most-victorious coach in the program's history. (He's won six seasons.)
Stefani will be taking the place of Adam Levine, who exited following Season 16. In addition to Shelton, she'll be competing against returning judges Kelly Clarkson and John Legend. Stefani and Shelton famously kindled their romance on the set of The Voice, while both were going through difficult and public divorces. Stefani previously coached on The Voice during the show's seventh, ninth and 12th seasons; she was also a guest advisor in Seasons 8 and 10.
Stefani didn't stop her country love in her main Instagram, however. The singer took to her Stories to show fans how her boyfriend has been supporting fellow country singer Craig Morgan's heartbreaking single. "The Father, My Son and the Holy Ghost." The song was penned after Morgan's son, Jerry, died in a tubing accident in July 2016 and was released a couple of weeks ago.
Upon its release "The Father, My Son and the Holy Ghost" captured Shelton's attention, and he Twitter to express his praise for the song and even offered up his spot on country radio for the song. Stefani duly noted Shelton's support to her own fans, and showed how the song was moving up the charts. "U R the sweetest man," she praised her love.
The Voice's 17th season will premiere on Sept. 23 at 8PM ET. The show airs on NBC.
