San Angelo Events

It's coming to the dark skies of San Angelo. Comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF). The last time this comet was visible on earth was 50,000 years ago. At that time, Neanderthals roamed the world. There wasn't much in the way of civilization.

There is a range of celebrations to ring in the New Year here in San Angelo. While this is certainly not a complete listing, here are the high points according to "Discover San Angelo". Remember whatever you do, don't drink and drive.

Plunging arctic temperatures are dangerous for people and pets. With temperatures going down to the single digits in the current cold snap, San Angelo is opening up a warming shelter. There are also shelters in Ballinger and Brady.

Everyone will be thinking about New Year's Resolutions as soon as January First hits. If you'll be resolving to lose weight though, hold off. San Angelo's Tamale Fest is on Saturday, January 7th.

It is easy to become distracted by the bad things in communities like San Angelo daily. Then, there are the singular events, where many hard-working people come together to bring goodness and joy. These events can remind us all that the spirit of Christmas is alive and well.
