On Saturday, March 2, 2013, at approximately 12:34 a.m., San Angelo Public Safety Communications received a 911 call regarding a residential burglary in progress.

A witness advised dispatch they saw an unknown male break a window and enter a residence in the 1100 of N Jefferson St.  The man was also observed removing property from the residence.

At 12:36 a.m., San Angelo Police Patrol Officer Joshua Jones arrived on scene and quickly located a man matching the description of the suspect in the front yard of the residence.  The man appeared to be intoxicated and was bleeding from his hand.

The Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Unit also responded to the scene to assist.  Subsequent to the field investigation, it was determined the man gained entry to the home by breaking a window located on the front of the residence and the man’s injuries were consistent with the forced entry.  Some of the items stolen from the residence were located inside the man’s vehicle.  The man was identified as Jesus Herrera of San Angelo.Herrera was arrested for Burglary of a Habitation and transported to the Tom Green County Jail.
