If this is your birthday, congratulations! One of the pioneers in recorded music was also born on the date. Sun Records founder Sam Phillips, born in Florence, Alabama, in 1923. He signs and produces such acts as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis, entering the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001.
