The City of San Angelo’s Code Compliance Division has established a hotline for citizens to report violations of the drought ordinance. The hotline’s number is (325) 277-8906.
Violations may also be reported online at sanangelotexas.us or by calling Code Compliance at (325) 657-4409.

San Angelo is in the second of its three drought stages. Under Drought Level II, outside watering is restricted to no more than one inch once per week between 6 p.m. and noon. Other violations include allowing water to run more than 150 feet down a gutter, street, alley or ditch, and failing to repair a controllable leak.

Code Compliance on Sept. 1 assumed responsibility for enforcing the Water Conservation and Drought Contingency ordinance and immediately made it the division’s top priority. The move increased the number of officers enforcing drought restrictions from one to seven.

“The drought has made water San Angelo’s number-one issue and need,” Code Compliance Manager James Flores said. “We’re doing all we can to proactively educate our citizenry about how they can best conserve water to ensure our water supply is stretched to its maximum potential.”

San Angelo’s available water supply is expected to dip to 12 months in October, which would trigger the final stage of the drought plan. Under Drought Level III, outside watering is prohibited.
