San Angelo Man Shot by Unknown Assailants
A San Angelo man was shot while fleeing unknown assailants during early morning hours in downtown San Angelo. The suspects were not located and the victim was treated at Shannon Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Early on the morning of July 14, at 12:55 am, San Angelo Police responded to a shots fired call in the area of S Chadbourne and Twohig. Officers arrived and located evidence of gunshots being fired in this area. While investigating the call, San Angelo Police Dispatch received a call from Shannon Hospital in reference to a gunshot victim.
Officers responded to Shannon Hospital and made contact with the victim, Paul Garcia DOB 7-13-1992. Garcia had received a gunshot wound to his arm. Through the investigation, it was learned Garcia had been approached by two unknown Hispanic males, armed with handguns, accusing him of stealing some property. Garcia was able to run away from the suspects, who fired multiple rounds in Garcia’s direction. Garcia was struck in the arm by one of the shots fired.
Garcia was transported to Shannon Hospital by private vehicle where he was treated for his injuries.
