The San Angelo Nature Center will host day camps for kindergartners through sixth graders starting next week!
Each five-day session is filled with fun nature activities that will allow kids to explore the center and its inhabitants along with the Spillway Road Nature Trail.

The session for kindergartners through second-graders will be July 14-18. The session for third- through sixth-graders will be July 21-25. Both sessions are from 8 a.m. until noon each day.

The cost is $80 for Nature Center members and $100 for non-members. Pre-registration is required and all fees must be paid in advance. Registration will be limited to 24 children per session. To register, call 325-942-0121 or visit the Nature Center, 7409 Knickerbocker Road, from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

Annual Nature Center memberships are $25 for a family and $20 for an individual.

Each child will receive:

  • Snacks and drinks.
  • A T-shirt.
  • A curriculum book.
  • A fun-filled and adventurous week learning about the animals and plants of the Concho Valley. Topics will include insects, arachnids, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals, wildflowers, other plants and more.

The Friday session will be from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the nature trail. Participants must drive to the trail’s entrance on Spillway Road. Family members are invited to join in the hike. Only water will be provided on Friday.
