Lisa Matassa Visits KGKL

She's a married mom with 2 kids, she lives on Long Island in New York, and she's a darn good country singer!

It was our priviledge to meet Lisa Matassa this morning at our studios! She has a powerful voice, and a real passion for country music. Lisa started singing when she was 8-years-old, and she's always loved country music. Even though she was trained in opera singing, and also recorded freestyle dance music several years ago when it was popular.

Lisa has always wanted to become a country singer. Although Long Island, New York is not necessarily a place where a lot of country artists come from, Lisa was determined to try to make her dreams come true. She did not want to look back several years from now and wonder "what might have been" so , with the support of her family, she's on the road for a Texas radio tour. Lisa has opened for many country stars, and her next show will be with Dierks Bentley for a July 4th concert.
