"Our Hearts Bleed Blue" from Jay and Kristen Dirks is a song that you definitely need to hear!

100% of the digital sales from "Our Hearts Bleed Blue" will be donated to the Dallas Fallen Officer Foundation.*

Aside from being a country singer, Dirks is a sworn Federal Law Enforcement Officer in San Angelo, TX. He understands first-hand the hardships that police officers are facing today and wants to give back to his close knit brother and sisterhood in any way possible. Jay feels very strongly about donating 100% of the digital sales from this song to the Dallas Fallen Officer Foundation. As Jay said many times, “there is no amount of money to help those families deal with the pain of losing a loved one who has given the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country to preserve our safety and way of life.”

*The Dallas Fallen Officer Foundation is an inclusive organization designed to assist the immediate families of "fallen officers" critically injured or killed in the line-of-duty in the Dallas/Ft. Worth region.

Jay Dirks is pleased to announce the release of "Our Hearts Bleed Blue," his first ever radio single from Dirks' second 6 song EP, which is due September 2016.  Dirks' second EP includes 6 original songs written by Dirks himself and showcases his vocal ability from singing classic country style songs to a more modern contemporary sound.

Jay Dirks is no novice to playing country music.  Jay has played in the Texas Music Scene for almost 15 years as a singer, songwriter, and guitar player for several different country acts.  Dirks recently became a police officer in 2011, honorably served in the U.S Army Infantry from 2001-2005, and is an Operation Iraqi Freedom War Veteran.

Ultimately, Dirks' first radio single, "Our Hearts Bleed Blue," was inspired by the tragedy of the Dallas Police shootings this past July as well as Dirks facing the daily reality of being a police officer himself.  Dirks and his wife Kristen Morgan Dirks eloquently share the vocal arrangement in a heartfelt duet that paves the emotion in this classic country style ballad.  Undoubtedly, this song touches the heart of any listener who appreciates the sacrifice our police officers make on a daily basis.

Jay comes from Round Rock, Texas but has lived in several cities across the state.  He now calls San Angelo home and is happy to live in a quiet rural community away from the big city life.  In 2013, Dirks and his band took 1st place in the Texaco Country Showdown competition after releasing his first self-titled EP in February of 2013.  Aside from being a police officer, his love of singing and playing country music with his wife Kristen has always been his #1 passion.
