The San Angelo Elks Lodge 1880 sponsored a fun chili cookoff to benefit the Elks Children's Camp for Kids who are dealing with a variety of challenges.

The Winners are: 1st Place Jeff Johnson(seated). Standing from left to right: 7th Place Fred Lazarus, 3rd Place Susan Dean, 5th Place Alan Dean, 8th Place Delana Johnson, 6th Place Laura Coad, 3rd Place Show Gina Thorp, 9th Place Sherril Lazarus, 2nd Place Wes Heflin, and 4th Place Matt Simmons. Not pictured but taking 10th Place was Tracy Heflin. Congratulations to all the winners and thanks for your generosity!

The Elks Lodge works in many ways to help our community through scholarships for graduating seniors, the Hoop Shoot Free Throw Program which is open to all boys & girls ages 8-13, Drug, Tobacco, and Alcohol Awareness programs for kids and adults, Youth programs that include the Americanism essay contest, Veteran's Programs, and community investment programs.

Elks also look for other community needs and put together programs to address those needs. The Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks is 141 years old and is a fraternal order with nearly 1 million members and over 2000 lodges across the United States.
The Order spends more than 80 Million dollars every year for benevolent, educational, and patriotic community minded programs.
