Darrell was in town to visit the West Texas Rehab Center and also to tell us about his show and dance at the 23rd Annual Silver Spur Ball on Friday, July 19th, at the McNease Convention Center to benefit Rehab!

Boot scootin’ dance music by Texas singer/songwriter Darrell McCall, a meal by Texas Roadhouse and more than 100 silent auction items will be featured July 19th at the 23rd annual Silver Spur Ball benefiting West Texas Rehabilitation Center.

The event also will include casino games and prizes and drawings for a gun and a hand-stitched, queen-size quilt.

Tickets are $40 per couple or $20 per person and are available at the Rehab Center. Tables for ten are available on a first come, first served basis.

Legendary performer McCall fronts his Tennessee Volunteer band which features steel guitar, fiddle, bass and drums. Their sound is “dance hall country” which Darrell has perfected throughout the 1960’s and 70’s singing harmony with George Jones, Faron Young and Ray Price.Best known for hits such as “Lily Dale” with Willie Nelson, “There’s Still a Lot of Love in San Antone,” “Dreams of a Dreamer” and “Eleven Roses” which Hank Williams Jr. took to Number One, McCall joined Heart of Texas records in 2005 and his latest CD release is “Keeping with Tradition.”

In 22 years, the Silver Spur Ball has raised more than $500,000 for the Center, thanks to the generous support of sponsors, donors and those who attend each year. Event underwriting is being provided by Sam’s Club, West Central Wireless, Milford Engineering, Catholic Life Insurance, JL Mercer Boot Co.,Livestock Weekly, Lowe’s Market and Scott & White Health Plan.

Through its facilities in San Angelo, Abilene and Ozona, West Texas Rehab Center provides outpatient rehabilitation care each day to more than 500 children and adults who have experienced disabling illnesses or injuries. Events such as the Spur Ball make it possible for the Center to treat all who seek its services, regardless of their financial circumstance.
