3 Days, 3 Chili Cookoffs, over 800 miles, 2 states!

It was a lot of traveling, but a lot of fun as I emceed and helped with 3 chili cookoffs in 3 days over the Memorial Day Weekend! I started out on Friday evening, driving to Durant, Oklahoma for the 29th Southwest Open Chili Championship. The complete story with pictures from that cookoff is here.

Saturday evening is a 6 hour trip back to San Angelo. I missed my turn in Gainesville, so I got to see Bowie, Jacksboro, Graham, Breckenridge & Albany on a different route. Nice scenery! Also, some unusual road names like "Bugscuffle Lane" and "Frog Hollar Road"!

Sunday was the Chili Legends Memorial Cookoff at the Water Valley Park. Pictures and more details are here.

My excellent adventure concluded on Monday, Memorial Day with the final cookoff at the Water
Valley Park. Here's the winners from that cookoff, which Karen Sedlak from Paint Rock Won!

Karen is in the red shirt. It was a fun 3 days, but it will take a few days to recover from all the traveling!
Thanks to everyone who came out over the weekend for Chili, Charity & Fun!
