This Is Evolution Day!

Today is the anniversary of the publication of Charles Darwin's  book: On the Origin of Species in 1859. His controversial theory turned  the world upside down, in his thinking of how we came to be. And, it remains controversial to this day.

This very special day for all homo sapiens is also called "All Our Uncles Are Monkeys Day".

It is also the anniversary of the discovery of "Lucy", the Australopithecus afarensis skeleton, by Donald Johanson and Tom Gray in 1974. This skeleton is very important in the study of evolution.
