It's National Umbrella Day! 

Today we honor one of the world's most important inventions, the umbrella.  On a rainy day we are sure glad someone was smart enough to think of it.  They are also used to shade ourselves on sunny days from harmful UV rays and heat from the sun.

You can find umbrellas in all shapes, sizes, colors and designs.  They are used by businesses and organizations for advertising.  The smallest can fit inside a purse or the glove compartment of your vehicle.

Always make sure your umbrella is handy.  Use it, or walk around with it.  If you don't have one, this might be a great day to invest in one.  That way you'll be prepared.
