It's National Lemonade Day!

The earliest mention of lemonade comes from Egypt, in the 10th century.  Back then, trade in lemon juice was very common and  folks found they enjoyed the drink best with the addition of sugar.

Now a days, lemonade can be found in various forms.  It can be made with fresh lemons, reconstituted from frozen juice, dry powder or liquid concentrate.  You can also enjoy it in different shades of color.  Most people prefer it in a tall glass with ice, but it is sometimes enjoyed frozen into a slush or Popsicle-type dessert.  You also may want to try the quite popular artificially sweetened and flavored lemonade versions.  There are even artificially flavored alcoholic lemonade drinks available.

Either way, nothing is more refreshing on a hot summer day than a tall glass of ice cold lemonade.  It's a great way to enjoy, National Lemonade Day!
