Birthdays And Anniversaries For November 25th + National Parfait Day

If this happens to be your anniversary, congratulations.  It is also the 38th anniversary of The Band's farewell concert, "The Last Waltz".  It took place at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco.  They opened with, "Up On Cripple Creek".  The concert was also filmed for a later movie release.  Others stars on the bill include:  Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Neil Diamond, The Staple Singers, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison and Neil Young.  What a Night!   It's National Parfait Day! 

Parfait is a French word that literally means "perfect". The word was originally used to describe a kind of frozen dessert dating back to 1894.

This dessert is usually served in a tall clear glass, that is filled with layers of choice ingredients anywhere from ice cream and chocolate to yogurt, nuts and fruit.  You may also wish to try it with Oreo cookies and cheesecake with whipped cream, angel food cake pieces and lemon cream filling with whipped cream.  It's pretty much up to you, as to how you want to build your parfait.  The best part is eating it!  So, just enjoy!
