Birthdays And Anniversaries For February 26th + Chili Day

If this is your birthday, congratulations!  You share the same date as one of the greatest names ever in country music.  J.R. Cash, born in Kingsland, Arkansas, in 1932. As Johnny Cash, he joins the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, rising to prominence with rockabilly music at Sun Records and graduating to become an icon for country music.  

It's National Chili Day!!

Hey, this is Texas, and we love our chili con carne (chili with meat). Here's some Texas chili history.

In 1893, at the Columbian Exposition in Chicago, the San Antonio Chili Stand introduced people from all over America to the great taste of chili. Due to San Antonio being a significant tourist destination, it helped Texas-style chili spread quickly throughout the South and West. Later, in 1977, the 65th Texas Legislature designated chili con carne as the official dish of the state.  All the more reason to chow down with a bowl of chili today.
