Birthdays For December 23rd + It’s Festivus

If this is your day to celebrate, congrats!  This is a big date for country music history.  in 1950 - Lefty Frizzell is at #1 on the Billboard country chart with is debut single, "If You've Got The Money I've Got The Time".  1969 - Willie Nelson's house in Ridgetop, Tennessee, catches  fire while he is in Nashville.  When he returns and sees his home in flames, he rushes in to save his guitar, Trigger, and a bag of pot stashed inside it's case.  Also in 1969 - Merle Haggard records, "The Fightin' Side Of Me", at the Capitol Recording Studio, in Los Angeles.  

It's Festivus - For The Rest Of Us!!

This Special Day came to the attention of most of us, as a direct result of an episode of the Jerry Seinfeld TV show.  That episode first aired December 18th, 1997.

To celebrate Festivus, you don't need a tree, but rather an unadorned aluminum pole.  Of course, there is the Festivus dinner with the suggested main course of meatloaf.  After dinner it's the ever popular "Feats of Strength".  No Festivus celebration would be complete without the, "Airing of Grievances", where you can tell someone how disappointed you are for something they did or did not do during this past year.
