Angelo State University’s Club Café’s coffeehouse-style entertainment series will feature singer/songwriter Levi Stephens at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, in the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive. Sponsored by the University Center Program Council, Stephens will perform in the University Center’s C.J. Davidson Conference Center, with doors opening at 7 p.m. Admission prices will be $2 for ASU students and $5 for the general public at the door.

A native of the Washington, D.C., area, Stephens credits growing up in a musical family for his early influences, which began in church and included everyone from soul legends Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers and Donny Hathaway to The Beatles, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Jimi Hendrix and Prince. In addition to songwriting, singing and playing guitar, Stephens has worked as a producer for 702 and Raheem Devaughn and wrote “Come on and Join the Gang” for the 2004 “Fat Albert” movie soundtrack. His debut album, “This Way,” is available for download through a wide variety of online music sites and on his website.
