San Angelo Police investigate multiple assaults, drug possession, burglary and more.

Around 2:40 a.m., an SAPD Sgt. Stopped at Sherwood and Childress to check the welfare of a motorist that appeared to be passed out behind the wheel.  At the conclusion of the call, the driver was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.  29-year-old Stephen Adam Geron was transported to the Tom Green County Jail without incident.

Around 11:15 p.m., Officers observed a black Chevrolet Silverado Pickup drive over two cement parking space dividers and out of the parking lot of the Tilted Mug Bar at a high rate of speed.  The truck pulled onto Knickerbocker, squealing its tires, and eventually to Loop 306 headed westbound.  The Officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and the vehicle stopped in the parking lot of the Meats & Sweets Store located at 4220 Southwest.  The Officer contacted the driver, who appeared to be intoxicated.  A DWI Enforcement Officer was requested to conduct an investigation.  At the conclusion,  35-year-old Clarisa Granado was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and transported to the Tom Green County Jail.

Around 9:50 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of N. Browning Street. For the report of a domestic disturbance.  At the conclusion of the investigation, 26-year-old Justin Talamantes was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence for his assault on a 23-year-old female victim.

Just before 7 pm, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Baker for the report of a domestic disturbance.  Officers arrived and determined that Assault Family Violence occurred.  The suspect was identified as  28-year-old Jerry Stephen Sanchez.  When Officers advised Sanchez he was under arrest, he told them they were going to have to wrestle with him.  When Officers attempted to take Sanchez into custody, he resisted and a struggle ensued.  Officers were able to handcuff Sanchez and escort him to a patrol vehicle but Sanchez refused to get inside the vehicle and another struggle ensued.  During the struggle, Sanchez kicked one officer.  Sanchez was additionally charged with Resisting Arrest Search or Transport, and Assault on a Public Servant.  The Officer suffered minor injuries but did not go to the hospital.

Around 4:00 a.m., Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of W. Twohig for the report of a domestic disturbance.  At the conclusion of the investigation,  20-year-old Fancee Suezann Ayers was arrested for Assault Class C-Family violence for her assault on a 20-year-old male.

Around 10:45 a.m., Officers were dispatched to the Motel 6, 311 N. Bryant Blvd. for an unwanted person.  During the field investigation, it was learned that 23-year-old Mikel Brandon Shaffer entered the room on the property and stole a wallet.  Shaffer was charged with Burglary of a Habitation and Class C Possession of Marijuana.

Around 12:30 this afternoon, Officers were dispatched to a residence in the unit block of W. 23^rd for a possible burglary in progress.  Upon arrival, Officers received information that the suspect had just left the area on foot, eastbound in the south alley, and that his first name was Chris.

An Officer located a subject who matched the suspect’s description coming out of the south alley of E. 23^rd Street and Volney.  The Officer attempted to ID the man, who said he left his ID at home.  The subject then ran from the Officer.  Officers converged on the area and the suspect was located approximately 30 minutes later, trapped in a fence behind a residence in the 2200 block of Volney.

The suspect was identified as Christopher Allan Sheets 08-10-87.  At this time, it is unclear if a burglary occurred and that portion of the investigation is ongoing.  Sheets was charged with Evading Arrest Detention.
