Angelo State University’s Office of Student Affairs, Disability Services, will host the annual Education Service Center (ESC) Region 15 College and Career Transition Fair on Wednesday, Nov. 18, in the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive. ASU will also host the accompanying Parent Night on Tuesday, Nov. 17.

Parent Night will run from 6-8 p.m. and the Transition Fair will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Both events will be in the University Center’s C.J. Davidson Conference Center and are free and open to the public. High school juniors and seniors with special needs and their parents from the 42 school districts in Region 15 are encouraged to attend. The fair also includes resources for students with dyslexia, students receiving services through Section 504 and migrant students.

James Williams, national director for the Austin-based Independent Living Experience, will be the keynote speaker at both events, which will also feature information and vendor booths from disability-related organizations.

The focus of the events is to introduce students with special needs and their parents to the resources available in the community to support students in meeting their post-secondary goals in the areas of education, training, employment and independent living.
