I am actually excited for Valentine's day for once, no, not because I have a date; but because shamrock shakes are coming back to McDonalds!

According to USA TODAY, fast-food chain McDonald's announced the return of the famous Shamrock Shakes. Starting February 15th Mcdonald's will be offering 2 delicious St. Patricks day items to the menu. The traditional Shamrock Shake and the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry were debuted last year as a part of the Shamrock Shakes 50th anniversary.

McDonald's first started selling the Shamrock Shake in 1970. Over the years, the burger chain has brought back the original as well as new variations like the "Shamrock Sundae" in 1980, a chocolate version in 2017 and their newest tradition, the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry in 2020.

They have been very smart with these seasonal items, only offering them for a limited time to create buzz around them.

Very similar to how they treat the McRib.

I LOVE shamrock shakes with oreo in them, they are my favorite treats ever. And not just McDonald's version. We had a local ice cream shop in my hometown that makes the best milkshakes.

My dad and I would go there after golfing while I was growing up. He'd get a peanut butter banana shake, and I'd get mint oreo. I didn't know it had a proper name.

Now that my dad is 1700 miles away from me, every time i'm able to get a milkshake like that, it's like I'm returning to my childhood.

So Valentine's cant get here fast enough.
