We’re Setting Top Ten Warmest December Low Temperatures in San Angelo
We are less than ten days away from Christmas, but it sure doesn't feel like it here in San Angelo. Over the last week, we've seen high temperatures in the 70s and even the 80s in our area.
Overnight lows have also been quite on the warm side here recently during the holiday season for the Concho Valley.
The low was 62 on Wednesday morning and we've dipped down to around 60 this morning. Both readings have made the all time top ten warmest low temperatures recorded in San Angelo for the month of December.
According to the National Weather Service, these are the top ten warmest low temperatures recorded in San Angelo with the date of the latest occurrence before this week:
- 65 (1 occurrence) with the last occurrence happening on December 18, 1924
- 64 (1 occurrence) with the last occurrence happening on December 28, 1984
- 63 (2 occurrences) with the last occurrence happening on December 14, 1948
- 62 (6 occurrences) with the last occurrence happening on December 1, 2007
- 61 (5 occurrences) with the last occurrence happening on December 2, 2012
- 60 (8 occurrences) with the last occurrence happening on December 1, 2012
- 59 (6 occurrences) with the last occurrence happening on December 26, 1988
- 58 (8 occurrences) with the last occurrence happening on December 13, 2014
- 57 (13 occurrences) with the last occurrence happening on December 3, 2021
- 56 (16 occurrences) with the last occurrence happening on December 29, 2020
As you can see, we've made it into the top ten three times this month if you include the two times we popped into the top ten this week.
Now you don't want to get too attached to these warm December nights. The record setting warm lows should end this weekend as the next cold front is expected to roll through the San Angelo area late tomorrow night into Saturday morning.
