Toby Keith‘s highly-successful Live in Overdrive Tour hasn’t lost any steam, despite the fact that the outing’s headlining act underwent an invasive surgery just two weeks ago to remove his gall bladder. Keith resumed his demanding road schedule just days after his brief hiatus, proving that his focused work ethic is matched only by his intense need to satisfy his massive fanbase.

According to Got Country, Keith went under the knife on July 30 after dealing with “significant pain” for a measurable amount of time. The singer was forced to postpone his Aug. 2 performance at Fort McCoy, but later rescheduled the show for Aug. 30. Keith returned to the road the next day.

Telling the Southern California radio station K-FROG that the “surgery wasn’t anything” and that the “pain wasn’t bad,” Keith also mustered up the strength that week to film the music video for his new single, ‘I Like Girls That Drink Beer,’ as well as attend the grand opening of the newest Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill in Rancho Cucamonga, California.

The singer will be able to take a quick breather this week, with his next scheduled show to take place this Friday (Aug. 17) in Holmdel, N.J.
