Texans Prefer This Type of Wine Over Any Other
National Wine Day is Friday, March 25th, and that means you have a pretty good excuse to celebrate all things wine.
According to the website offers.com, Americans love dry red wines. In Texas, that percentage is actually larger. According to the site, 37 percent of Texans say their favorite wine is a dry red, 15 percent say it's rosé, and 14 percent love a sweet white wine.
According to a press release, 42 percent of Texans drink wine with a meal, while 33 percent drink wine while relaxing at home. Meanwhile, 31 percent enjoy a glass of wine when out with friends and family.
Wine is a big industry in the West Texas area and another reason to be celebrated. Over 80 percent of Texas' wine grapes are grown near Lubbock on the High Plains according to txwines.org.
Lubbock has many great wineries, including Pheasant Ridge Winery (which just released a new rosé) Llano Estacado Winery, CapRock Winery, McPherson Cellars, and, coming soon to downtown Lubbock, Burklee Hill Vineyards.
So whether you enjoy drinking wine or just want to support the local economy, there are plenty of reasons to celebrate National Wine Day.
