Thirty years after the Texas Department of Transportation launched its “Don’t mess with Texas” anti-litter campaign, the spirited call-to-action is still going strong.
Cleaning trash from area roadways may not be a glamorous job, but it is one that has attracted 15 Adopt-a-Highway groups in Tom Green County to volunteer their time this Saturday as part of this year’s “Don’t mess with Texas” Trash-Off.
The pain of losing a child to distracted driving is all too real for Mike Myers. In 2014, his 18-year-old daughter, Elana, was tragically killed in a single-vehicle crash while driving distracted on her way home from college.
The Texas Department of Transportation’s statewide “Plan While You Can” campaign is reminding football fans to make a sober ride part of their game-watching plans for the upcoming playoffs and the big game. The campaign runs through Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016.
