Set in St. Louis, the sketch starts with Beck Bennett as a news anchor for “News 4” (which is the CBS affiliate in St. Louis) relaying a serious presentation of current events, right before he hands it off to two morning show hosts (played by Kenan Thompson and Cecily Strong) who have an obnoxious show with an obnoxious theme song called ‘Rise and Smile.’ First, there’s no way this sketch should have been cut, but that’s a pretty obvious position to take.

Don Pardo, the man who introduced the 'SNL' lineup every week since 1975, has sadly passed away at the age of 96. Pardo also lent his voice to radio, sports, game shows, and commercials over the course of his incredibly long-running career, but we'll always remember him best for that wonderful phrase: "It's 'Saturday Night Live!'"

After all the turnover season 39 of 'SNL' brought to the cast, between Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, Jason Sudeikis and Seth Meyers departing, as well as controversial additions like that of Sasheer Zamata, the 40th anniversary season of the long-running NBC sketch comedy was expected to bring with it a few changes. Now, the first of the season 39 freshmen have been cut, as cast member Brooks Wheelan announces he won't return this fall.

Tracy Morgan ('30 Rock,' 'Saturday Night Live') is in critical condition after a six-vehicle accident on the New Jersey Turnpike early Saturday morning. Morgan had been riding in a limo bus from Dover, Delaware where he performed Friday night.

Having been fired from 'SNL' in 1995 along with fellow comedic legend Chris Farley, Sandler recently spoke to yet another notable alum, Norm MacDonald, who asked Sandler why he never returned to host an episode.

We'd already known that 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' star Andrew Garfield would make his 'SNL' hosting debut in early May, but the final hosts of the season web up much more excitement. Not only will Charlize Theron return for her second time on the 'SNL' stage, but distinguished alum and 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' host Andy Samberg will return to make his hosting debut for the finale!

'SNL' will take a bit of a break this weekend following 'Neighbors' star Seth Rogen's third time hosting, returning on May 3 with 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2''s Andrew Garfield, but consider the long-running NBC sketch comedy to have much larger plans in mind for the future: an epic, star-studded, three-hour broadcast in February 2015 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of 'Saturday Night Live'! We haven't heard much from 'SNL' since Melissa McCarthy hosted the pre-Super Bowl installment on February 1, but given NBC's coverage of the 2014 Winter Olympics, late night took an understandable back seat. Now, with the long-running sketch comedy series due to return on March 1, 'The Big Bang Theory' Emmy winner Jim Parsons will make his hosting debut!

After years behind the Weekend Update desk, the terrific Seth Meyers is leaving 'SNL' to pursue other projects. And by pursue other projects, we mean "take over as host of 'Late Night' while Jimmy Fallon ascends to 'The Tonight Show.'"
